The Saboteur (Playstation 3)

Pandemic Studios (Star Wars: Battlefront series, Destroy All Humans!) released one last game before having to call it quits, and they’ve gone out with a bang. The Saboteur is an open-world action game based around Paris in the 1940s. Imagine the type of sneaking around from Assassin’s Creed, mixed with the open world gameplay from Grand Theft Auto IV.

Hard drinking womanizer and racing mechanic Sean Devlin (based on the real-life Saboteur William Grover-Williams) is seeking revenge over the Nazi occupation that caused his friend to get killed. Parts of the city lack colour in a stylish black-and-white appearance, until Devlin comes in to weaken German forces. When you complete objectives, an area will regain its visual colour, and the people will gain a ‘Will To Fight’, inspiring civilians to attack the Nazis in their area.

You’ll get to take down Nazis with different weapons, using stealth and disguises, or improvising if your cover’s blown. Grab a bazooka and watch zeppelins burst into flames, as well as destroy tanks, trains and bridges to foil the plans of Nazi Germany. - © Pat Baker
