*Awesome Gameplay
*Engaging Multi-Player mode but seems to be dominated by the elite players, Which makes it hard for us casual players.

This game is great for multiplayer gameplay which definitly what it was designed for. Matchmaking is terrible with no ability to choose the server and if you dont like the server and try to join another sometimes you get put back into the same one.
single player is enjoyable with the added bonus of special ops which makes the game last abit longer and abit more challenging.

overall a great game and im going to keep playing it for along time i think!!

I've hardly touched the singleplayer and i bought it months ago, thats how immersive the online experience is. Buy it if u like FPS of any kind, you won't be disappointed :)

Those two cons which are keeping this game from being 100% perfect (listed above).

Dedicated servers, which have been included in past Call of Duty titles, give the player more choice over what map and gamemode they wish to play, and they generally have less online lag in multiplayer games than P2P online gaming. Modern Warfare 2 uses an online system called IW.Net, which connects players directly to eachother instead of to a central game server. Does this work? Yes. Does it work great? Yes. Then why did I list it as a con? Simple - dedicated servers ARE better, for more than the reasons listed above. BUT, I have not had any problems with IW.Net yet, and don't let it hold you back on your purchase of the game - as I said, it works and it works great.

The other con is the bad story. Call of Duty games have never really had "great" stories, so this is no real surprise... but you will still get A LOT of fun out of the sinlgeplayer portion of the game.

An average shooter in my opinion. The single player mode is quite fun but you will be soon finished with it, it lasts roughly 3/4 as long as the original modern warfare campaign which was very short itself.
The multiplayer is where this game shines, if Infinity Ward had done to this what they had done to Modern Warfare then I would be giving this game a 5 star rating, sadly this game lacks some of the core features the original modern warfare had.
It lacks servers which is the most important, you are stuck with a matchmaking system which is not all that great.
Due to not having selectable servers it is hard if not impossible to mod the game, although mod tools are expected to be released soon.
The game is also slightly prone to hackers, you will find the odd player using an aimbot which can ruin the game for everyone else.
The pc support on this game is solely lacking, the developers made this game with consoles in mind which is why the console version of this game is far supperior.
If you are too buy this, purchase a ps3 or xbox360 copy.

It comes close to the awesomeness of CoD4. The multiplayer has been improved in most aspects, with a lot of additional features. Singeplayer is still very epic, graphics and game play is unbeatable. Spec-Ops seals the package with awesome co-op. So many great things for a cheap price, you just can't miss it!

MW2 has a good single-player experience but is quite short as it can be finished in just 5 hours. The Multiplayer is the part where most people will buy it for as it boasts a good selection of maps, weapons and attachments but is flawed as their are no dedicated severs, and people you play with have no interest in team work, aswell you will find huge amounts of lag and I could never play the multiplayer smoothly. Not only this but you will find lots of hackers or seemingly many 'lucky' shots happening and is just frustrating.
