      Comments about WEINSTEIN COMPANY Martyrs:

This is the best horror movie I have seen in years. It is also one of the best movies I have ever seen. But first a word of warning. This is a nasty, brutal, extremely violent and visceral movie. Even some of the most hardened horror movie fans that I know thought it was a bit much. But all I can say in defense of this amazing movie is that every single bit of violence in this movie is justified. I'm not saying that because I just like horror and gory movies. But the violence here serves a purpose and actually pushes the story forward. The movie is about 2 girls who set out to get revenge on a couple who abused one of them years earlier. That is all I am going to say because the less you know about this movie before watching it, the better. It isn't your typical revenge movie. That is only a very small part of it. It's so much deeper than that and goes far beyond any horror movie that has ever been made before it in terms of pushing boundaries, story, brutality, darkness and uncompromising violence. Don't get me wrong. There are more violent movies out there. But not as brutal as this. It will stay with you for days after you have watched it. The best French horror movie ever. Half the content of this movie will never get into the American remake so watch this version before it is toned down, butchered and diluted by the people who brought you Vacancy....
transcendental, philosophical, deep, original, unflinching horror the likes of which you've never seen before. Buy it!!!
