Comments about UNIVERSAL PICTURES Boat That Rocked:

Not among writer/director Richard Curtis's best movies, but nonetheless a very entertaining comedy based on pirate radio stations that broadcast rock and roll music into England from the North Sea in the 1960s. A great cast -- including Philip Seymour Hoffman, Bill Nighy, Rhys Ifans, Nick Frost and Kenneth Branagh -- give great comic performances so that one hardly notices that the movie is over 2 hours without much of a plot! And the soundtrack of sixties rock music is wonderful.
The DVD includes 38 minutes of deleted scenes, and they are well worth watching -- the material is generally as good as anything in the finished movie.
