Description

The Sugababes are back. Sweet 7 is the band's seventh studio album and is scheduled to be released in the United Kingdom on 23 November by Island Records. This is their first album since having signed with Jay Z's Roc Nation. The project also features different productions from RedOne, Neyo, and Smeezingtons whilst Sean Kingston has his very own guest vocal on the album."Get Sexy" was the band's first single that was released in August 2009. The song was phenomenally successful and even peaked in at number two. The song subsequently became the Sugababes' highest charting song since "About You Now" back in 2007. While in a band performance in Amsterdam, it was affirmed that the RedOne had produced "About a Girl" which will be released as Sugababes' second single. It will also be the first single to feature their new band member-Jade Ewen. Before the creation of the album, the Sugababes signed a U.S. record with Jay-Z's label Roc Nation. The album was recorded by Sugababes primarily in the New York and Los Angeles area. The songs of the album are uniquely Sugababes with its distinct formulations and combinations. The group purposefully worked with Ryan Tedder, Fernando Garibay, and Stargate, to give it the band's recognizable tone. Alongside the common songs is a song called "No More You", which was written by Neyo in order to add certain flair and a new twist to their genre.

Comments about UNIVERSAL MUSIC AUSTRALIA Sugababes - Sweet 7:

I really like the Sugababes but this effort is just OK. Singles are probably the best tracks on the CD. I think the original line up (none of whom are in the current group) should get back together.

Comments about UNIVERSAL MUSIC AUSTRALIA Sugababes - Sweet 7:

This album is a 180 from "Catfights and Spotlights" however its not all bad. It definitely lacks the soul of almost all previous Sugababes albums but it does have massive up-tempos. The first 8 songs are an assault on the ears with pulsing beats. The last 1/4th of the album slows things down, although enjoyable, it never quite reaches the heights of "Stronger" or "Too Lost in You." If I would have never heard Keisha's vocals on half the tracks I would appreciate Jade even more, however I did hear those leaked tracks and now much prefer them. But the tracks that Keisha has not been heard on, Jade does a wonderful job. All in all, a upbeat album to shake away the flop that was their last album.

Comments about UNIVERSAL MUSIC AUSTRALIA Sugababes - Sweet 7:

At first I wasn't sure about this line-up but Jade has brought something fresh and different to the band. SHE'S A MESS is something you would never expect to hear from the Sugababes but it's such an amazing song. The rest is great too. Love it!

Comments about UNIVERSAL MUSIC AUSTRALIA Sugababes - Sweet 7:

This album is now dire, it just sounds like any other girl group. The talent has obviously left. We are now left with a manufactured pop group.
